Job Overview:

The Bartender shall mix and serve alcoholic and nonalcoholic drinks to customers seated at Gaming Machines or bar areas throughout the gaming facilities

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Takes orders from guests and Servers
  • Maintains complete knowledge of all menu items, liquor brands, beers, non-alcoholic selections, specials and mixes ingredients to prepare cocktails and other drinks
  • Maintains a complete awareness of cocktail and drink recipes and production methods
  • Maintains a complete knowledge of designated glassware and garnish for each drink
  • Maintains knowledgeable of different types of alcoholic beverages and their methods of production
  • Inspects cleanliness and condition of assigned stations and associated public space and rectifies any deficiencies
  • Greets guests and takes orders utilizing suggestive selling and up-selling techniques
  • Utilizes Call Order procedures when preparing orders for Servers
  • Continuously maintains cleanliness and organization of bars, bottle displays, coolers and station equipment
  • Replaces ashtrays with two (2) cigarette butts, utilizing the “capping” method
  • Other duties & responsibilities as assigned

Job Requirements: (please ensure you meet the listed requirements prior to applying)

  • High School diploma or GED required or currently enrolled and successfully complete a GED program within six (6) months from start date as a condition of continued employment
  • Must be twenty-one (21) years of age or older
  • One (1) year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience- required
  • OR six (6) months’ experience within the Beverage Department at WCH- required
  • Willingness and ability to lift and maneuver a minimum of fifty (50) pounds
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate, in English, effectively both verbally and in writing, and understand and carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram formats
  • Must successfully pass job interview, including a guest service audition
  • Must successfully complete Responsible Vendor Alcoholic Beverage Service, and TIPS training
  • Must successfully complete ServeSafe Sanitation training
  • Willing and able to work odd or irregular hours including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Willing to travel and participate in training as recommended or required
  • Must have a Tribal Gaming License (or the ability to obtain and maintain a license) as a requirement for this position
  • Must have willingness and ability to work in a smoke/secondary smoke environment
