Job Overview:

The Lead Warehouse Associate shall act as the receiving/warehouse agent on behalf of Wind Creek Hospitality and is responsible for accurate inventory accounting and the enforcement of Internal Controls, departmental policies and procedures, and Illinois Gaming Regulations.  The Lead Warehouse Associate will receive items/product for the property, deliver them to the appropriate department, and properly record and account for those items.  The Lead Warehouse Associate shall assist in inventory counts as needed and will ensure the warehouse is kept clean and orderly at all times.  The Lead Warehouse Associate will report to and assists the manager/ supervisor. The Lead Warehouse Associate will train and aid other Associates with the warehouse computer program, deliveries, and receiving techniques. The Lead Warehouse Associate will communicate to management and applicable department heads pertaining to any issues such as overages, shortages, deliveries, and damages of merchandise.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Verifies and keeps records of incoming and outgoing shipments. Compares identifying information and counts, weighs, or measures items of incoming and outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records
  • Unpacks and examines incoming shipments, rejects damaged items, records shortages, and corresponds with shipper, purchasing department and Finance to rectify damages and shortages.  Routes and delivers items to departments and or appropriate storage locations in a timely and efficient fashion
  • Operates tier-lift truck, fork lift or use hand truck to move, convey, or hoist shipments from shipping-and-receiving platform to storage or work area.   May direct others in preparing outgoing and receiving incoming shipments
  • Assigns bar codes/item numbers/date stickers to all merchandise received
  • Responsible for processing merchandise receipts, requisitions, and transfers in the computerized system
  • Responsible for the maintenance and filing of documentation supporting shipping and receiving transactions
  • Train and aid warehouse staff for all functions, receiving, requisitions, transfers, and inventory
  • Processes requisitions, tranfers, and prepares fill orders for distribution
  • Adheres to warehouse standard operating procedure manual for warehouse department
  • Monitors inventory levels to achieve appropriate stock levels and ordering schedules
  • Performs daily recaps and generates assigned reports                                                               
  • Takes part in daily, cycle, and month end inventory
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned

 

Job Requirements: (please ensure you meet the listed requirements prior to applying)

  • High School diploma or GED required or currently enrolled and successfully complete a GED program within 6 months from start date as a condition of continued employment - required
  • Must be twenty-one (21) years of age or older- required
  • Associates Degree in Business- preferred
  • One (1) year related warehouse/receiving experience; Knowledge of receiving and storage functions- required
  • Six months of experience with computerized inventory/purchasing systems- required
  • National Restaurant Association ServeSafe, or equivalent safe food handling certification- required
  • Must have and maintain valid state-issued operator driver’s license - required
  • Ability to use all equipment associated with the position including manual and powered pallet jack, fork lift, hand truck, cart, and electronic scale. Fork lift certification must be completed within 60 days from hire date- required
  • Must be able to lift and/or move parcels and packages weighing 50 lbs. - required
  • Must have willingness and ability to work in an environment to which the employee is exposed to moving mechanical parts, loud noise levels, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, extreme temperature changes (freezers, coolers, etc) and outside weather changes
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment while observing all safety rules and standards
  • Ability to plan, organize, prioritize, and carry out work duties with moderate supervision
  • Basic math skills; Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent, and to convert units
  • Ability to stand for extended period of times and climb ladders- required
  • Willing to work odd and irregular hours including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Willing to travel and participate in training as recommended or required
  • Must have an Occupational License (or the ability to obtain and maintain a license) pursuant to the Illinois Gaming Act and remain in good standing with the Illinois Gaming Board as a requirement for this position.
