Job Overview:

The primary responsibility of the Poker Dealer is to proficiently, courteously, and accurately deal the game of Poker to customers. Dealers must provide a positive unmatched guest experience through the delivery of superior guest service while maintaining a sound understanding of game play, rules, internal controls and gaming standards. They will encourage repeat business, while maintaining game integrity. All duties are to be performed in accordance with departmental and Wind Creek policies, practices, and procedures.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Arrive for shift on time and in proper uniform.
  • Exhibit consistent proficiency in dealing the game of Poker.
  • Protects and control game being dealt.
  • Follow all Florida Rules and Regulations related to the game of Poker.
  • Conducts the games in accordance with Departmental policies and procedures, handling player transactions and notifying the Poker Room Supervisor of any irregularities.
  • Advises the Poker Room Supervisor of any player disputes or arguments that may arise during the game.
  • Informs the Poker Room Supervisor of important or relevant facts regarding specific players.
  • May be required to assist in brush and/or chip runner duties.
  • Properly use equipment, tools or systems to complete assigned tasks and complies with company safety standards.
  • Develop a working knowledge of any rules, regulations and Internal Controls applicable to your position.
  • Adhere to and complies with both departmental and overall property policies and procedures.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned

Job Requirements: (please ensure you meet the listed requirements prior to applying)

  • High School diploma or GED required or currently enrolled and successfully complete a GED program within 6 months from start date as a condition of continued employment -required
  • Must be able to pass an audition for at least 2 Poker games, No Limit Texas Holdem and Pot Limit Omaha -required
  • Must be familiar with methods of cheating in Poker.
  • Ability to calculate mathematical equations i.e. adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing without a calculator or paper.
  • Bilingual: English/Spanish preferred.
  • Must have the ability to reach or lean across the table to retrieve cards, chips, player identification or other documentation.
  • Ability to follow directions with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to withstand prolonged standing, stretching, bending and kneeling without restriction, work indoors, outdoors and be exposed to various environmental factors such as, but not limited to CRT fatigue, noise, dust, cigarette smoke.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, busy, and somewhat stressful environment and maintain physical stamina, proper mental attitude while dealing effectively with guests, management, team members, and outside contacts while working under pressure and meeting deadlines.
  • Ability to lift or carry a minimum of 10 pounds, unassisted, in the performance of specific tasks assigned.
  • Ability to work with others, communicate well, receive direction; review your own work.
  • Maintain a positive attitude toward work and interface with guests in a friendly and polite manner.
  • Ability to address stressful situations with clients with dignity and the utmost tact and politeness.
  • Must be able to work with others, communicate well and receive direction when needed to achieve department goals and objectives.
  • Willing to work odd and irregular hours including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Willing to travel and participate in training as recommended or required
  • Must have an Occupational License (or the ability to obtain and maintain a license) pursuant to the Florida Statues and remain in good standing with the Florida Gaming Control Commission as a requirement for this position
