Ticket Writer - Sports Book Part Time

POSITION PURPOSE:

The primary responsibility of the Ticket Writer - Sportsbook is to maintain the assigned cash drawer with an acceptable level of coins and cash. The Ticket Writer - Sportsbook is responsible for the processing of sports wagers and payment of winnings and for maintaining accountability for all coin, cash, and cash equivalents within the assigned drawer. Provide outstanding guest service while writing and paying Sportsbook tickets and providing information to guests. Answer customer questions related to sports and sports betting.  Process contest selections and parlay cards as applicable. At the end of each shift, the Ticket Writer - Sportsbook will be responsible for reconciling the assigned cash drawer and completing all necessary paperwork associated with this position. The Ticket Writer - Sportsbook reports directly to the Supervisor - Sportsbook or above. All duties are to be performed in accordance with departmental and Wind Creek Bethlehem LLC’s (“Wind Creek”) policies, practices, and procedures.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Arrives for shift on time and in proper uniform.
  • Responsible for practicing, supporting and promoting the company service standards at all times.
  • Accurately write and pay valid sportsbook tickets.
  • Operates wagering terminal and perform machine maintenance, including but not limited to loading new tickets and keeping the area free of all debris.
  • Answers to all guests, explain wagering information, questions in a manner that reflects an understanding of the department and property in general.
  • Must have a full understanding of all wagers offered on betting board with ability to explain to customers as needed.
  • Assists Supervisor - Sportsbook in identifying guests with special needs to ensure the protection of the company assets and best guest service possible.
  • Observes and reports unusual or suspicious wagering patterns or transactions.
  • Perform any other related duties as assigned.

 

Minimum Employment Requirements:

  • 18 years of age, proof of authorization/eligibility to work in the United States.
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in a positive/upbeat fashion utilizing English; both in oral and written form.
  • Interpersonal skills with focused attention on guest needs to deal effectively with all business contacts.
  • Maintain a professional, neat and well-groomed appearance adhering to Wind Creek appearance standards.
  • Maintain consistent adherence to Wind Creek’s customer service standards.
  • Must be able to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays.

Specific Position Requirements: 

  • Previous sportsbook experience preferred.
  • Ability to follow directions with minimal supervision.
  • Maintain confidentiality of guest information and pertinent casino data.
  • Basic math skills. Must be able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Understand and comply with all company, departmental and PGCB rules and regulations, policies and procedures.
  • Physical ability to access all areas of the property.
  • Ability to withstand prolonged standing, stretching, bending and kneeling without restriction, and be exposed to various environmental factors such as, but not limited to CRT fatigue, noise, dust, cigarette smoke.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, busy, and somewhat stressful environment and maintain physical stamina, proper mental attitude while dealing effectively with guests, management, team members, and outside contacts while working under pressure and meeting deadlines.
  • Ability to lift or carry a minimum of 50 pounds, unassisted, in the performance of specific tasks assigned.
  • Ability to work with others, communicate well, receive direction; review your own work.
  • Maintain a positive attitude toward work and interface with guests in a friendly and polite manner.
  • Ability to address stressful situations with clients with dignity and the utmost tact and politeness.
  • Must be able to work with others, communicate well and receive direction when needed to achieve department goals and objectives.
  • Must be able to qualify for, apply for and obtain a Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board license if required.
