Community Responsibility
Supporting vibrant communities through community investment, partnerships and Team Member engagement.
At Wind Creek Hospitality, we believe responsible business practices include considering the impact we have on the environments and communities where we operate.
Our approach to sustainability continues to evolve as we improve how we measure our impact, identify opportunities to operate more efficiently and responsibly, and incorporate new practices and technologies across our properties.
Wind Creek's approach to sustainability considers the environmental, operational and community impacts of our business. As our efforts continue to evolve, we are focused on four key areas.
Supporting vibrant communities through community investment, partnerships and Team Member engagement.
Identifying opportunities to conserve resources, reduce environmental impact and support healthier environments.
Strengthening our operations through education, preparedness, responsible practices and new technologies.
Understanding how our properties use energy and resources, measuring performance and identifying opportunities for greater efficiency.
Our properties operate in different environments and communities, creating different opportunities for sustainable practices and responsible operations. As our sustainability efforts continue to grow, we are working to identify and advance initiatives that make sense for our properties, our Guests and the communities we serve.
Wind Creek Chicago Southland was designed with sustainability in mind from the start. In 2026, the property earned LEED® Silver certification from the U.S. Green Building Council, becoming Wind Creek Hospitality's first LEED-certified property.
Developed on previously used land, the property incorporates sustainability strategies including water metering, green power and carbon-offset programs, heat-island reduction measures, low-emitting construction materials and comprehensive indoor air-quality strategies.
LEED is the world's most widely used green building rating system and an internationally recognized symbol of excellence in sustainable building design, construction and operation.
Electric vehicle charging infrastructure is available at multiple Wind Creek destinations, helping provide Guests with additional transportation options while visiting our properties.
Understanding our impact starts with understanding how we use resources.
Wind Creek monitors energy and utility usage across its properties and uses the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's ENERGY STAR® Portfolio Manager platform to help establish baselines, monitor performance and identify opportunities for greater efficiency.
Our efforts also include property energy audits to identify potential conservation measures and opportunities to incorporate more efficient practices and technologies.
Wind Creek also established an enterprise electronic-waste program to support the responsible handling of eligible electronic materials across the organization.
Wind Creek is working with its food suppliers to better understand sustainability practices throughout our supply chain and identify opportunities for future improvement.
As part of a multi-year Sustainable Supplier Program, Wind Creek is establishing baseline information on supplier environmental practices, greenhouse-gas management and sustainability readiness. Initial work has included supplier benchmarking and a 2026 sustainability survey, followed by a pilot program designed to help participating suppliers strengthen greenhouse-gas measurement and sustainability capabilities.
The program is currently focused on food suppliers and is designed to expand to additional areas of Wind Creek's supply chain over time.
Meaningful progress starts with understanding where we are today.
Wind Creek is continuing to develop a more consistent approach to measuring sustainability across our organization. This work is helping us establish baselines, better understand our environmental and operational impact, identify opportunities for improvement and create greater accountability across our portfolio.
Our areas of measurement continue to expand and include energy and resource use, environmental stewardship, responsible operations and community engagement.
As our sustainability program evolves, so will the way we measure and share our progress.
Sustainability is an ongoing journey. As new technologies, information and opportunities emerge, Wind Creek will continue working to better understand our impact, identify meaningful opportunities for improvement and incorporate responsible practices into the way we operate.
Our goal is progress: building on what we're doing today while creating a stronger foundation for tomorrow.
